Memory Box Poppies with Bokeh Method

Hi, Shaz here-  'tis the 15th of the month so time for another DT post for Bizzy Bec's! Thought we'd take another look at the Bokeh method
Here's a peek!
Bokeh method shown also step by step here and below
LESSON 1: dont get it too wet or it will dry blotchy like mine.. I used distress inks  on watercolour.
LESSON 3:  when you die cut use a heavier quality piece of acetate as you can get, mine was, as was scrap from a lid, lighter you can trouble with mask. The white bubbles are overlapped and are done with chalk ink, it is better really if you dry between, I also did the different sizes it three (odd numbers -> better balance) of larger size then five (or so of next size and more of last size.
Have cut the two lots of prim poppies and arranged them on the oval die cut of Bokeh background. One bud I chose to use reverse side of bud, (ie turned it over so it faced other way). Shaped all flowers accordingly with shaping tool on mat.
Items used:Watercolour Paper

Spellbinder Elegant Ovals
Cottage cutz stitched oval
(fits the spellbinder ovals perfectly)
Impressions Obsession Greeting die set.

This background was made see here, on last month's post..applied bokeh background then added the diecut frame with Tonic scalloped rectangle die, Butterfly is Joy Vintage Fourish butterfly and the thanks is CB Olivia alphabet die . discontinued years back.
Thanks everyone for popping by, especially if you take time to say hi :D
And you may like to join in with the March Anything Goes challenge over at Bizzy Bec's ... you just might win that stamp or die prize!

Bokeh Technique With Die cutting

 Hi everyone,
Just popping in to share my mid month DT post for Bizzy Bec's...
Okay here is a sneak peek of my card... as you can see it is inky, using the Bokeh technique, plus loads of die cutting.
So here it's getting inky. Cut a sheet of Neenah heavyweight white cardboard (it blends really well). Used Distress inks (Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles and Peeled Paint), with some memento inks - Bamboo Shoots + Pear Tart.
One piece was inked "ombre" with dusters, other was smooshed.
** I did do more inking on both after taking this photo.
Die cutting the bottom of the inked ombre piece.
TIP
:
1.keep die cut a base in fun foam piece.
2. squeeze
Tombow glue over fun foam die cut (whilst still in foam base).
3. Let it dry to get tacky, then you have time to position the top die cut well before adhering. Tombow becomes re-positionable after drying some, I guess this applies to all tacky glues.

Double layered *the Memory Box Flower branch, *Pinpoint Circle frame + fun foam on Music die.
The Bokeh part: 1.cut different sized circle dies for a template to ink around.
2. Use sponge applicator and chalk ink and various layers of circles assorted sizes.
3.You need base ink utterly dry avoiding not have greenish circles, ie no ink transfer. 4. It's better to dry chalk ink off as you go, so circles keep more distinctive.

This piece is the smooshed ink sheet with circles on it, will be used later.
Completed card. This is a partial CASE of this card on Pinterest - from Splitcoast Stampers, but couldn't find person's name.
Products used:
and Pre-order Memento inks.
Thanks so very much for each of you who've popped over..
.... and please do say hi to let me know that you've been by!

Layering dies - Memory Box Glowing Candles Die

Hi again everyone - Shaz here, with another tutorial!
This time on layering dies. You can find more details on my blog here.
I bought this die  some time ago - Memory Box Glowing Candles (available Bec has it at a really great price over here!). Saw a great card with it - here, and this one has a video if you want to watch it!

Cut three different shades of cardstock, gold, red and green. Added double sided tape on the back of card first.
Remove the tape layers with pricking tool, remove the die pieces you want in other colours on the top - gold layer first, as shown.
Added red to candles centres and centre of the flame which is also red.
Removed the gold leaves, adding the green on top.
Cut the top two colours of red and gold stems off the edges. Under the layers, adhere the green so it shows green stems. Add red bling for holly berries.
Stamp is from Our Daily Bread "Joy to the world" stamp set (ODB stamps are available from Bizzy Bec's upon request). Gold embossed, added die cut centre from Spellbinder, inked lightly around edge in gold.
Spellbinder die, I bought from Bec, is cut in gold - 5 x 7 Heirloom Legacy, a gorgeous die and great size.
Thanks so much everyone for popping over and saying hi, hope you enjoyed this card, as much as I did! Think might try another colour-way!!
May God bless your day,
