Shining Star with Lawn Fawn

Hi, Lou here with you today to share a card made with

I actually made this as a sample card for a children's card making workshop I held in the holidays.
The children had lots of fun cutting out the animals with the Upon a Star Lawn Cuts dies and popping them off the card with foam dots.
I also used Meadow Borders Lawn Cuts to make the hill the animals are sitting on.
The white stars and sentiment are embossing powder.

Thanks so much for dropping by today.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Hello fellow crafters,
I do hope you are getting plenty of time to do your favourite thing.
I have a few friends celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year (ours is next year) so I thought I would make a card I will have an immediate use for.

I was so looking forward to using this
Marianne Design - Anja Border
It is so elegant and Bec has an excellent special on it at the moment.
It comes in two pieces,  I cut and raised the centre section by using the second die.
I also added some tiny pearls here and there.

I thought it might look a little plain in the background so I used a background stamp
from many years ago.  Victorian Diamond Panel 485 and I embossed it with fine gold.

For the Gold at the top and bottom of my card I used Frantic Stamper - Scallop Borders
Centre pieces are:
Memory Box - Stitched Circle Layers
Raised using double sided foam tape.

Elizabeth Craft - Numbers and more (50)

Hearts are from Sue Wilson - Shadow Boxes - Mr & Mrs
Don't forget to check out Bec's specials and to enter Bizzy Bec's Anything goes Challenge.
One more 50th to go and then I have to do a 25th Anniversary for our son.
Where did those years go?

Happy crafting to you all.
Hugs Carol

Gilded Watercolour Distress Ink with Dies

Hi there friends. I saw this tissue watercolour method with crumpled and embossed highlights, and was looking for something inky with which to back this card. Wow, is it fun!!
Here's a wee peek.
First of all, use some ordinary tissue paper, mine was bit imperfect, second hand, from a present received who knows when. 😉
1. Select inks ( you can use most sort, but water-based blend best), used some Distress Inks - from Bec - made varying sheets as you can see.
(Current card used mini DI Dried Marigold, Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick.)
2. Smoosh inks randomly on blending mat.
3. Then spritz inks with water, layer gently the tissue paper over the inks. Once coloured lift **carefully (it IS fragile at this stage) put on paper towel, or in my case, on junk mail!! the tissue dries well on it, once dry it lifts up easily.
This method is really effective economical watercolour, especially if learning the technique. The card I made used the next "scrunched-it-up" step, also.
4.  For this, scrunch up the dried tissue paper then glue it to some card, as attaching press to emphasise the raised areas of scrunching. Allow to dry.
5. Use on finished sheet the embossing anti static pad. Cover well, then smooth (lightly and evenly) over Versamark ink pad to catch crinkle highlights. Sprinkle  Gold Embossing Powder and heat emboss.
Attach to card base, you can see gorgeous gold highlights best on this photo below.
 6. Next comes Die cutting. I've used Sue Wilson Thank You Die
Spellbinders Dies used is Heirloom Legacy 5" x 7" die ( I bought mine from Bec, so it might be ordered from Bec, upon request)
To layer Die cuts and to see how to do this easily, see this post here.

Here is completed card, assembled, LOVE the intricacy of the Sue Wilson word die, superb quality and detail!
This technique is fun, will be revisiting it!! Hope you enjoy it too.

Now don't forget to pop over  HERE at Bizzy Bec's and check out the other DT gorgeous creations, and please do join in the ANYTHING GOES July CHALLENGE - to win that prize.

Wild Rose Studio Stamps

Bec stocks a range of gorgeous stamps from Wild Rose Studios in her store. The card I have made uses the 'Bunny and Butterfly' image. The stamps give a crisp image for colouring using your chosen materials- I used Copic markers. The background uses a Taylored Expressions embossing folder  'dotted lattice' and  the die is from Spellbinders 'Heart Circles'. Contact Bec through the store link to check availability of the Spellbinders die set.
Happy crafting, Jackie.
