Wish You A Beary Christmas

Hi, Lou here to share the love on Christmas day.
I hope everyone is having a truly wonderful Christmas.

This is my Christmas card for you today, showing that loads of stamps can be changed to add a little Xmas magic.

I have used Harry has happy mail from Stamping Bella and added a little santa hat from the Lawn Fawn Fleece Navidad stamp set.

The main image was stamped directly onto my cardbase and coloured with alcohol markers before adding the little hat which I stamped on a spare piece of card and cut out.

I then added the bakers twine on the side as a bit of interest.

Thanks loads for coming by the blog and be sure to enter our monthly anything goes challenge

Happy Christmas
Lou

Hero Arts Poppy Stamp Set - Bizzy Bec’s Final DT post

Hi there  - Shaz here!  Sadly today is my very last post on the DT for Bizzy Bec's.
I’ve been obliged to give it up due to family commitments.
Another learning curve for me here, this time layering stamps..
Here was my trial run - using Hero arts layering stamps. I've never used layering stamps before, so inked up all shades to chose which inks to us,e and watched a video on it from you tube as well.
Misti very handy for layering stamps, especially clear ones. Below am working out placement with second card and colours.
Used Lawn Cuts stitched border die to make pattern for background.
Stamped greetings in Black Versafine ink from the same stamp set. Background is Hero arts Linen background stamp, could use one from Darkroom door.

Items used:
(A good size stencil for circle pattern, one I used is discontinued).
I really want to say a big thank you to Bec and Karen and the whole team for the blessing and privilege of being part of such a great group.
Thanks dear friends for popping over too and especially if you kindly take time to comment! You are really appreciated!
May God bless you in everything wherever you maybe!

Wet + Dry Embossing with Background Dies

Hullo there everyone! A few cards with a newish technique used once before!
A big peek..

Using from Bizzy Becs:
Frantic Stamper Sanharan Screen Background Die
STEP BY STEP:
Cut piece of card coloured or white card of good weight, to fit die for background piece. As you'll see I used two different background dies here.
Use anti static pad on card first, ink it up lightly with Versamark ink pad
TIP: Put versamark on cutting surface *only, so just dust *gently across the top of the die.
**avoid as much as possible pressing into the crevices of the die pattern.
If you do, you'll need to remove lots of excess powder from wrong place.
(Wonder why I know)

After inking, work out embossing sandwich for your machine, I used a very thin shim on my machine, instead of thicker usual shim.
Place cardstock on rubber mat, gently lower die, cutting side down on cardstock and run through once. I found once with thinner shim sufficient on my machine.
Dust well with EP of choice, remove unwanted areas with fine paint brush (much less on my third attempt) and heat set.
If not quite enough embossing, you can carefully repeat, I did on one of mine, and it worked well. Just line up carefully.
The other background die used. First time used, I put in centre pieces of Sue Wilson die. But left it plainer on third card, thought it looked better, less is more.
Use a fine brush to remove excess powder.
Choose simple overlay of design on top, these Elizabeth Craft Design Quietfire dies are simply perfect.
Die cut the greeting three times with backing double sided paper on the back.
Leave greeting in each layer, and layer the intricate top layers into placed whilst still not separated (see photos).
Makes it much easier!
Loved both these variations, it would look great on deep burgundy cardstock too or green for a Christmas card background.
Sue Wilson background die, one with and one without centre.

Thanks for patience in reading this long post.
Now dont forget to pop over  HERE at Bizzy Bec's and please do join in ANYTHING GOES November CHALLENGE!
Maybe win that monthly prize,  posted overseas too!
Pop by Bec's store, too, for her great bargain prices
.

Thanks so much every one for popping over for a peek, and especially if you comment, you are appreciated!
