Shaker Card + Elizabeth Crafts Happy Birthday Die

Hi Shaz here!
Another tutorial - shaker cards using positive and negative of a word die -  happy birthday die! Two cards for the price of one!

The **Elizabeth crafts Happy Birthday word die, a stunning die, very easy to use positive and negative.  Also using ** Cottage Cutz Stitched ovals.

Step 1: Die cut out the centre of the shaker card with die cut of choice. On underside add the acetate for the shaker bits to go under. OPTIONAL: on top put a frame cut from same size oval and next one up and mount with double sided mounting tape, cut to size and pop it up on the outside. see below.

Step 2 Completed front layer of card, ready with acetate, frame + embossed front sheet.

Step 3: Add double sided tape to back of *inky glossy card piece for word die *(more details on it on my blog post).
Step 4: After cutting out the word die add the sheet of photo paper to snippet of white card. Carefully lift off the positive of the word die to expose the intact negative of the die on lower layer.
I have cut another word die cut out of white craft foam (added double sided tape on the back of it also), for the happy birthday die.
Lay the positive layer on top of foam cut so it pops up nicely on the card.

Step 5: I decided I needed to match the colours of the die cut with the background for shaker, so really mixed media here! Some torn up tissue paper, glued on scrap of card, coloured with similar toned sprays.

Step 6: Here are all the shaker elements in the inside of the foam layer, it was die cut with inside size die and then adhered with tape and non tacky glue to the back. I say non-tacky cos tacky glue can stick to sequins etc.

Step 7. Add seal on back of shaker, I used some anti static powder on back of the acetate, before adding sequins etc. The seal on back of foam needs to be complete before turning it over.

Completed card 1, also used embossing folder by *Taylored Expressions called Snow fall, *available from Bec.- although not on site. I actually embossed it from both ends to extend the embossing.

Card 2: You probably can't see it but used *Spellbinder Pierced Rectangles die set to cut out the photo paper. Just used the pierced section to give a pierced edge.

Once Upon a Time - Roses...

Hi Karen here, today I am popping in to share with you my new card.

I have been playing again with the Blue Butterfly Digi Stamps from the store.  I have been wanting to enlarge one of the girls faces for a while now.  The image I choose is from the Once Upon a Time Collection and is called Roses.  You can find her and her friends here.

She has been coloured with Copics and Prisma Pencils and was such fun to colour.  I have also used Card Embellishment Kit No. 8 and she has been printed onto Copic Paper (Bec has a similar product in store Neenah Cardstock) and  then die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities die - Fleur De Lis Squares.  The sentiment is a freebie and available here from the store blog.

Yay!!! KITES!

Hi, Louise here today to share with you a card made with the Lawn Fawn Yay Kites stamps and die sets.  These are available now for pre-order over at Bizzy Bec's shop.

This was my first time actually using a stamp set with a matching die and it was pretty simple.

My only tip would be use washi tape to hold the dies in place when cutting.

I coloured my images with markers and foam mounted some of them against the base of the card.

For the hills at the bottom of the card I used Stitched Hillside Borders also by Lawn Fawn

Accordion Card

Hello Everyone visiting.  I thought I'd make an Accordion Card for today.

Using the Elizabeth Craft Design - Fancy Label

You can have as many sections as you like.  

I chose to have three sections today but it depends how much you have available to put in your card.

Front Panel

The stamp I chose I have had for many years. 

The flowers are from another die set....

Leane Creatief  Dies – Swirl Circle and Flowers

I snipped the flowers between each petal and worked each petal from behind with a stylist to stretch the card stock.  I sponged the tips of the petals and added the pearls and I was very happy with the end result.

The centre panel I used:

Joy Craft - Mug and Cup and Joy Craft - Tea Pot 

(though I think it looks more like a coffee pot, which suited my purpose)

I added some fun flock on top of each cup for foam.

The end panel I used the flowers again as done on the front.

Darkroom Door Photo Stamp - Surfboards

Hi there - Shaz here with another step by step :D

Another lovely red-etched rubber stamp by Darkroom Door - a photo collage - surfboards!

To the method ...

Stamp the lovely stamp in black Versafine ink and emboss with clear Embossing powder.

I had bought some lovely cheesecloth from Bec and wanted to use it with surfboard stamp, + the Dylusions teal spray, also perfect pearls spray. Has lovely sheen on this, just cant see it.

Here is the dyed cheesecloth (also used it as a stamp while it wet and juicy on some other card to right). It was too dark when done so I wrapped it up like a sausage and put a Rubber band down length of it, like we did for tie dyeing in the '70's. Then wet it all over again with water and took some of the colour out randomly with kitchen paper to get the mixed colour. Let it dry naturally.

Assembled card - Added some real sand from our beach, with some texture paste and masking tape.  Coloured the sky with DI ink and hand made cloud masks. Added the colour to sea with Versamark and Perfect Pearls, and also the surfboards. Turquoise card on left was coloured from cheesecloth stamps above and added some more colour after embossing piece, I added some more inks to highlight. Only needed a third of cheesecloth which was dyed, it was folded over three times. Happy Birthday was stamped in Versafine on cork, and clear embossed.

Loads of shimmer on this card....

Thank you Tag....

Hi everyone, just popping in today to share with you a little Thank You tag I have made to go onto a gift that I am delivering on Tuesday.

I have used lots of different goodies to create the tag and I have listed below the items that can be preordered from Bizzy Becs online store.

First I applied Texture paste through my stencil Heartwood by  Memory Box then when it was dry I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads in Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple.

Other elements used are Dressform Duo die from Die versions which together with the ribbon was an element from an old Card Kit from Bizzy Becs.

The gold heart  is a Sizzix Thinlit Die - Scribbles and Splat and the gold Thank You font is also from Sizzix  - Celebrate (this is not listed in store but if available can be ordered -  just email Bec) .

To finish off the tag I added lace, flower  and bling elements from Card Kit No 8
